At DSPA, we believe that musical theatre is a magical blend of acting, singing, and dancing that brings stories to life on stage. Our musical theatre classes provide students with the opportunity to develop their performing arts skills, build confidence, and ignite their passion for the stage.

•  Triple Threat Training: Our musical theatre classes focus on developing students into “triple threats” – skilled performers in acting, singing, and dancing. Students will receive comprehensive training in each discipline, honing their abilities and becoming well-rounded performers ready to take on any musical theatre production.

•  Performance Opportunities: We believe that performing is an integral part of a musical theatre education. Throughout the year, our students have the chance to showcase their talent in our biannual musical theatre productions, recitals, community events, and local competitions. These experiences provide students with valuable

•  Acting Techniques: Our experienced instructors guide students through various acting techniques, including character development, improvisation, stage presence, and storytelling. Students will learn how to connect with their characters, convey emotions, and captivate audiences through their performances.

•  Vocal Training: Singing is an essential component of musical theatre. Our vocal training focuses on breath control, vocal technique, pitch, and musical interpretation. Students will receive guidance in solo and ensemble singing, expanding their vocal range and developing confidence in their singing abilities.

•  Dance Training: Dance plays a crucial role in musical theatre. Our dance classes cover various styles, including jazz, ballet, and tap, allowing students to develop their dance skills and stage presence. Students will learn choreography, improve their technique, and develop the necessary coordination and musicality for musical theatre performance.

•  State-of-the-Art Facilities: Our dance studio is equipped with spacious, purpose-built dance studios that provide a safe and inspiring space for our musical theatre classes. Our studios feature professional-grade flooring, mirrors, and sound systems to enhance the learning experience.

My daughter has been dancing with this amazing team of teachers since she was 3 years old. They have nurtured my daughters love for dancing and have encouraged her to try new things. DSPA provide such a wide variety of classes and the teachers are so creative. She loves all the different opportunities that she has experienced. They have been extremely supportive during the challenges we have faced with COVID this year through providing online lessons. The main thing is that my daughter loves it and loves the teachers. I cannot recommend this dance school highly enough. My daughter moved to this school 4 years ago and since then her confidence, technique and enjoyment have climbed from strength to strength. My daughter has been at the dance school for 5 years now and this will be her third year as part of the performance team. She has always had lovely teachers who make lessons fun as well as having high expectations of technique. She absolutely loves coming to dance and attends five days a week. They have put on amazing shows and attended numerous competitions all while ensuring the children are happy and enjoying themselves. Charlie also has singing lessons and attends musical theatre classes, all of which are helping to build confidence. The dance school feels like a family which we hope to be part of for years to come!
